B&L Ott Heating & Air Conditioning is celebrating the success of its Oldest Furnace Contest, a community initiative that invited homeowners to share the stories behind their oldest still-working heating systems. The campaign concluded with Lisa Litzenberger selected as the winner of a new furnace after submitting a system that had been in service for an estimated 42 years.
The contest encouraged residents to reflect on the longevity of their home heating systems while learning more about modern safety and efficiency standards. Homeowners across the area submitted photos and personal stories, many highlighting furnaces that had quietly powered their homes for decades.

Litzenberger’s winning entry earned her a brand-new furnace installation valued at approximately $6,000. The upgrade provides improved comfort, greater energy efficiency, and enhanced safety features, including modern protections designed to reduce the risk of carbon monoxide issues, as colder weather approaches.
Litzenberger shared her appreciation for the team’s genuineness, transparency, and strong work ethic, saying B&L Ott “has far exceeded my expectations.” After living with a furnace that had served her home for more than four decades, she described receiving a brand new system as an incredible blessing. She also praised the B&L Ott team for making the entire process smooth and reassuring from start to finish.
“From consultation to completion, the B&L Ott team went above and beyond,” she said. “They explained the process in everyday terms and were transparent throughout the installation. No question or concern was too small. Their work ethic is something you cannot put a price on.”

B&L Ott plans to continue developing community-focused initiatives that combine education, engagement, and practical support for local homeowners.
